The Founders of SpiritQuest Sedona

Katherine Lash
An Arizona native who has lived in the Sedona area for 40 years, Katherine has been practicing and teaching Holistic Health for over 25 years. Her Bachelor of Science degrees in Education and Philosophy have lead her down a path of providing insight and direction to others.

Katherine is also an accomplished artist and has shown her paintings in many different galleries over the years. She has been a teacher of the arts and has a deep understanding of the creative process and its importance to the awakening of spirit. Her artistic perspective helps our guests unfold their inner expressions and discover their authentic voice. Katherine’s Holistic Heath credentials began in Hawaii after she spent several years traveling throughout Asia. The insights gained from visiting places such as Tibet, India, Thailand, Nepal, and Indonesia (to name a few) have proven invaluable to her own personal growth, her career as a healer, and her role as one of the principle founders of SpiritQuest. After finishing her education on the island of Maui and receiving certification as an Esthetician, Katherine returned to her home in Sedona where she opened her own spa.

Katherine is schooled in the modalities of reflexology, marma points, aroma therapy, European facial, microderm abrasion, galvanic, and Tesla high frequency. Katherine is also a certified Aura Soma practitioner working with color, light, and plant signatures. Her intuitive insights provide direction and life coaching to others. She practices Ashtanga yoga and breath work daily in a serene atmosphere, which she feels is essential to maintaining a life of balance and harmony.

Ed Preston
A native of North Carolina, Ed has lived in the Southwest for almost 30 years. He earned degrees in both Marketing and Anthropology, but choose to pursue a career as a naturalist, photographer and wilderness guide after graduating from the Outward Bound School.

His travels have taken him as far away as Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Alaska. With almost 20 years experience as a professional guide, Ed has taken thousands of visitors out on the land to experience the extraordinary beauty of the Southwest. Before joining with Katherine Lash to found SpiritQuest, he developed a reputation as one of the best guides in Sedona. Ed's perspective combines geology, botany and physics with spiritual and religious traditions from around the world. A journey on the land with Ed is often equal parts science, Native American culture, self awareness and personal growth. His gentle spirit and compassionate nature allow him to connect with people from all walks of life.

Ed has been interested in breath work, meditation, Jungian psychology, identity and personal growth for many years. Modalities that he finds particularly useful include Emotional Intelligence, Bowen Family Systems, and Myers-Briggs (both Katherine & Ed are INFJ's). Beginning in 1996, Ed began working with digital photography and web design. Along with his other talents and interests, he brings a significant knowledge of computers and Internet marketing to the SpiritQuest team.
